I also find that reexamining which your characters is great also - I've run out of steam before to find out the character I was writing about wasn't the right one... their plot didn't interest me, and if it was boring to me it would be boring to the reader. This doesn't mean you're going to switch characters, just examine them and the situation they are in. Just adding my thoughts to your rekindling section! Great advice!
